Professional Membership Grades

There are three professional grades of membership of the Society:

Graduate

This grade is for those who have:-

Practical experience in sales, marketing, retail management & international trade.

Passed the Society’s Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma examinations or similar examinations or been exempted from them.

Holders of this grade are entitled to use the letters GSSM after their names.

Associate

This grade is for those who have:-

3 years practical experience in the industry.

Passed the Society’s Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma examinations or similar examinations or been exempted from them.

Holders of this grade are entitled to use the letters ASSM after their names.

Associates, who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields, may apply for the special membership grade as “Incorporated Sales & Marketing Professional”. If you think you are qualified for this distinguished grade, then please get in touch with the chief executive.

Fellow

This is the highest level of membership and is only awarded to experienced practitioners who have:-

Successfully completed 5 years practical experience.

Passed the Society’s Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma examinations or similar examinations or been exempted from them.

Holders of this grade are entitled to use the letters FSSM after their names.

Fellows, who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields, may apply for the special membership grade as “Incorporated Sales & Marketing Professional”. If you think you are qualified for this distinguished grade, then please get in touch with the chief executive.
